Many many thanks to Amy Johnston for an incredible community Christmas carol singalong last night. Also to Dave & Cheri Peterson who distributed flyers throughout Gilbert in the weeks prior. And then there are too many people to mention who helped with the food truck setup/teardown as well as the singalong setup/teardown. What an awesome night with over 100 people!

GPC's Presbyterian Women’s Annual Cookie Sale !!!
BAKERS NEEDED (Please see details below)!
You can easily sign up online at:
bit.ly/PWcookies2023.
Also, sign-up sheets are in the Sanctuary narthex by the water fountain, and in the Palmer Center library on the desk. You can also call Liz in the Church office at 480-892-6753!
Please note:
- Donations of cookies, candy, brownies, etc (please no pies, cakes or cupcakes).
- If possible, please bring a “batch” of 2 to 4 dozen if possible.
- Bakers are certainly welcome to make as many items, and as much quantity as desired (the more the better)!
- Indicate if items contain nuts, peanut butter, nut flavoring, etc.
- Gluten-free (or other allergen sensitive) items are welcomed additions!
- Please write the name of the item on a piece of paper and tape it to the item.
- If stacking items, please use wax paper, saran wrap, etc. in between the layers.
- Please NO individually wrapped cookie bundles – in the past they haven’t sold well because people want to pick out individual cookies, not bundles.
- If possible, items should be delivered in a disposable container. If not, plates and containers need to be clearly marked with the baker’s name to ensure the return of containers on Sunday, December 17th (on the counter outside the PC Kitchen).
- Your items need to be delivered to the Palmer Center Kitchen between 9a & 5p on Saturday, December 9th (please use the south entrance by the kitchen)!

Flyin' K BBQ is veteran owned and operated by award winning Chef Ken Davis, an Arizona native with family dating back to the original settlers in Northern Arizona. His love for over-fire cooking started as a child growing up on his family's cattle ranch cooking meals over the campfire in the evening. An Army Combat Veteran, Ken enjoys serving his local community. After the Army, Ken fought fires as a Hotshot for the U.S. Forest Service. Returning to his love of cooking in 2012, he perfected and created O.G. Arizona-Style BBQ: mixing central Texas style techniques with Arizona spices and flavors.

PLEASE JOIN IN THIS WONDERFUL DAY OF 9/11 SERVICE TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY 09/09/23!
On Saturday, September 9th, churches and businesses in Gilbert are banding together to hold the second annual Gilbert Day of Service and Remembrance of the 9/11 event. Last year saw 120 people come together to clean up four alleyways around downtown. This year GPC is participating along with several other new participating organizations, and we'd like GPC folks to participate either in alley cleanup or several indoor activities on Saturday morning.
The day kicks off with a free breakfast at Evident Life church (on Gilbert Road) at 7 AM - pancakes, bacon and coffee. Here's where you would sign up for one of the activities to ensure not too many people try to do any event. At 8 AM there will be a flag ceremony by the local Boy Scout troop, then we all head out to one of several activities: alley cleanup for those that want to work outside for a couple hours, or the care bags being assembled at Gilbert Presbyterian.
A collection of shoes and snacks for kids is being taken up at Evident Life all morning; you can drive by and drop off donations from 8-11 AM.
